Create events that support the diverse goals of all alumni of foster care through social events, networking, raising public awareness of alumni needs and experiences as well as mentor recruitment. Within our Events Committee, we are looking to establish Subcommittees in the following regions of MA: West, North, South, Central and Boston.
Some simple training related to communicating virtually as a committee member and potentially basic events.
Able to meet every 4-6 weeks for a duration of 1 hour and serve on Regional Events subcommittee. Although some meetings occur in person, most of the events committee meetings will occur virtually through conference call or Skype. In order for committee members to be able to see results, we are looking for members who can commit to the work of this committee for a duration of 12 months.
Chair Events Subcommittee in one of the following regions; Boston, Northeast, West. This position is currently filled in Central and Southeast MA.

Lead the work of a regional subcommittee and host monthly conference calls/meetings to plan events Participate in check in call/meeting with other regional chairs every 6-8 weeks. Min duration commitment of 12 months.
Lead a workshop to help alumni 18+ practice an essential life skill.
Schedule a phone call with MassNFCA Staff; Demonstrate youth presentation skills. Experience working/volunteering with young adults required.
Commit to leading at least one workshop, but preferably more.
Create content for MassNFCA public Facebook page and/or Private Facebook group and/or E-blasts to mailing list. Manage responses and communicate promptly with MassNFCA staff and those interacting with our social media platforms.

The majority of our Board of Directors must be alumni. Additionally we’re looking to ensure inter-generational representation as well as representation from each region of the Commonwealth. MassNFCA also strives to maintain a board with directors who demonstrate expertise, including but not limited, to the areas of higher education, legal, nonprofit management and legislative knowledge and experience. Any Director can represent more than one area of designation.

Active in daily operations of MassNFCA as a founding board member. Attend Board meetings in person or via phone every 4-6 weeks for 2-3 hours or less.
