Massachusetts Network of Foster Care Alumni
Our mission is to create community and opportunity for current and former foster youth through education, employment, service and leadership.
Our vision is that alumni of foster care are well connected and well supported throughout all phases of life.
Following a feasibility study commissioned by the Department of Children and Families, the Massachusetts Network of Foster Care Alumni (MassNFCA) was created. Over the past several years, it has continued to build infrastructure through the support from the Department of Children and Families and the New England Association of Child Welfare Commissioners and Directors. Our membership is made up of both alumni and friends of foster care.
During our initial stages of development, we have been promoting community for alumni through partnerships with DCF youth advisory boards and events such as our annual Alumni Thanksgiving. As MassNFCA grows its membership and resources, the network may turn its attention to supporting alumni in need, especially those in transition.
