"As a child growing up in Compton, I challenged anything that I saw as unjust. My foster mom would tell me that I could be President! No one had ever suggested I was capable of achieving something like that and it stuck in my mind like an earworm. I discovered how my voice was essential in building an equitable and just society. Now, every day I wake up fighting for Black children much like me to have a fair chance at an opportunity to thrive. Because, I too see the President in every system impacted kid in Los Angeles."
