Tatjana Kobb is a medical doctor, researcher and management executive with a passion to improve the quality of life of people and quality of healthcare. This commitment leads her from the start of her career at UNHCR in the Balkans through UNICEF and WHO development initiatives and as an international executive working for Sandoz and Abbott Vascular Devices, Qatar Petroleum and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology.
Most recently she works with McGill University where she advises health leaders globally in their International Masters for Health Leadership.
Dr. Kobb supports the delivery of social justice, makes common cause with those in need and listens to and learns from others when choosing priorities. Actively involved in support of women through mentoring and coaching she nurtures the practice of purpose driven leadership and continues to empower those that lack support in their own environment.
She worked in the Balkans, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and in the USA advising on partnership building in health and safety, culture of health, sustainable development, sustainability and corporate social responsibility. She is committed to citizens diplomacy through her latest initiative Tamar Heritage https://www.tamarheritage.org and to the UN Sustainable Development Agenda and the 17 SDGs as a founder of Boston Sustainability Advising. https://www.bostonsustainabilityadvising.com

She lived in New York City, Boston and recently moved to the newly announced opportunity zone, the City of Fitchburg with her husband and two cats. Has one daughter and two sons all in collage.

SummerWorks: Paid summer internship and career readiness workshops for Boston area youth aged 14-21. It is a 7 week program, youth work 20 hours a week at a rate of $11/hr. Youth attend workshops that build career readiness skills such as resume writing, interviewing, professional communication, etc. Youth will receive case management from a Youth Service Specialist and be placed at a worksite within their community that matches their interests and abilities. The application opened for this program on February 1st. In order to apply the youth will need to fill out an application at www.summerworks.net and bring in supporting documentation for the application to any of our neighborhood locations or to our central office at 178 Tremont St. The deadline for submitting an application is May 25th.
Career Explorations: A year round program for out-of-school Boston youth aged 16-24. In the fall youth receive 7 weeks of general job training workshops (focusing on skills such as resumes, interviewing, job search, etc). In the winter they receive 12 weeks of job specific training in fields including: Culinary Arts, Early Childhood Education, and Health Careers. In the spring they would be placed in a paid internship in one of these career tracks and/or participate in an intense job hunt with the support of one of our case managers. Enrollment for this program is ongoing, so interested youth can get involved at any point in the year.
Future Protectors Initiative: This is also a year round career exploratory program for high school juniors and seniors aged 16-21. This program focuses on justice career pathways including: Law Enforcement, Fire Fighting, EMS, and Law/Government Careers. Youth can take college level courses related to these careers, participate in paid internships, and receive mentoring from professionals in the field. The youth will also receive individualized case management at least until they graduate high school--and thereafter as needed. Enrollment for this program is ongoing, so youth can apply at any point in the year.
Friends of Foster Care (AKA Allies) are welcome to attend if they are attending with an alum and/or helping an alum attend our event by providing transportation. Current and/or former foster youth below the age of 18 are able to attend with an adult.

2. Did you experience any of the following - foster homes, group care settings, kinship care (AKA raised by a family member) ---- adoption, guardianship or reunification (AKA returning home after foster care) following your time in out of home placement, continuation with DCF after 18?
Children at this event: A parent or guardian must accompany children under the age of 18 at MassNFCA Events.
